Stefinately

Welcome to my personal blog - a hodgepodge of my musical, art/design, and fashion tastes, among other things. I reblog like hell because tumblr's got so much good stuff that I want to share with you - it's like a visual buffet. I write/doodle often so I occasionally post my scribbles and creations on here under #words and #doodles. If you're looking for more of my art stuff, check out Kitteh Noir on Tumblr / Facebook. Nardwuar is an incredible music journalist. The way he does interviews is so interesting and unique, and I’ve always been blown away by his researching skills. What I love is that he pulls these tricks and treats out of his super magical sleeves of fabulosity to excite his interviewee (or at the very least, provoke some extreme emotions…), and he does this essentially to evoke special stories and steer the interview into something insightful for his viewers.

At the same time, he gives back to the artist by creating a unique experience for her/him - an interview where he’s actually taken the time to do extensive research and come up with thoughtful questions. And he always has a gift for them too!

What I love about his questions is that he doesn’t try to manipulate or sensationalize the interview the way that we see so many mainstream entertainment interviewers do. Furthermore, he’s interested in the music itself (influences, production, significance, etc) and the stories that pertain to the artist’s craft rather than her/his personal life.

The best campaign counter-attack video I HAVE EVER SEEN. Obama 2012

”So we’re going to call their BS when we see it and we need your help to call them on it too and set the record straight. So share this, tweet it, facebook it, I keep hearing about tumblr and whatever that is…please use that too. Thank you.”

-Stephanie Cutter / Deputy Campaign Manager at Obama for America.

And a Tumblr shout-out.

Using that Tumblr thing.

Obama is the coolest politician ever! I just wish he was ruling the UK! Fuq da queen

Signal Boosting!

Why can’t we make Obama the Queen of Amurrica?

I really like how she keeps saying “In America!” instead of “in the U.S.”

It makes me both feel proud and somewhat arrogant.

Also, I am constantly reminded of Bandit Keith.

Also: you go, Obama Administration! Four for you, Obama Administration!

and none for Mitt Romney.

*salutes* yes ma’am, signal boosting as ordered.

because i really, really hate when people get away with straight-up lying in campaign ads.

I’m starting to find this news hilarious.

That attack ad sounds completely ridiculous. They weren’t even changing facts, they were SERIOUSLY making them up.

I’m not in America, but a lot of my followers are. Guys, call out Mitt Romney’s bullshit. Support Obama, because frankly, not only is the man more than qualified for that job, but the rest of the candidates are either complete assholes or absolutely insane. Possibly both for some of them.

GObama

It’s funny how even with 6 million dollars for their specific ad campaign the republican party literally had to make up shit

Phil Spector turned “Unchained Melody” into a 20th-century classic with his Wall of Sound Righteous Brothers production. On a Triple J radio session, Lykke Li strips all that away on an intimate acoustic cover. She teased the audience about the song’s prominent placement in Ghost before unveiling her plaintive version.

Nardwuar vs Flaming Lips

It teaches you to not get too attached to one identity that’s based on one culture. It forces me to see the similarities between people. Within the band it’s a constant process of coaching each other to remember, no matter how exhausted we are, that we’re in Istanbul, or taking the ferry to a Greek Island. Touring as we have, in way less-than-glamorous circumstances, you still have to appreciate the opportunity to see the world, and not become spoiled and miss it.

“Few people get to see as much of the world as you have. What value do you take from all the travel?”
